Black Gold Organic from Gro Worm is a premium all purpose compost enriched with high potency worm casts, and in autumn it really comes into its own as a lawn top dressing that works its way down into the soil, giving grass roots the living, nutrient-rich base they need to thicken up and come back stronger the following spring.
Because we feed the plants and the soil, every bag carries the natural microbial life and gentle nutrition of Gro Worm worm casts, which helps to improve soil structure, holds moisture where the roots can reach it and supports the deep, steady root growth that a healthy lawn depends on.
Why use Black Gold Organic on your lawn?
- Spread as a top dressing after scarifying and aerating, it settles into the aeration holes and around the base of the grass, feeding the soil as it goes

How to Use on Lawns
Autumn top dressing: Mow short, scarify and aerate, then spread a thin layer of around 5mm (roughly one 50 litre bag per 10m²) and brush or rake it into the surface so that the grass blades are still showing, watering it in if no rain is forecast.
Overseeding and patch repair: Rake a layer of compost into the loosened surface, sow your seed and then cover lightly with a further dusting, keeping the area moist until the seed has germinated.
New lawns: Dig or rotavate a 5cm layer into the top of the soil before levelling, then lay your turf or sow your seed as normal.
General Garden Use
Mix 50:50 with soil when planting, or use it on its own for pots and baskets, firming gently and watering thoroughly afterwards. For an extra lift through the growing season, pair it with Gro Worm Lawn Boost Granules or Lawn Boost Liquid.
